2026 Second Annual Sturgeon Slam Fishing Tournament

Tournament Entry Based on $25 Per Person
Cost For Entire Package $200 Per Person.

Tournament Information

    • Fishing Starts at Sun Up on Friday April 24th.
    • Cabin Check In 4:00 PM Friday April 24th.
    • Fishing Ends at 5:oo PM Saturday April 25th.
    • Fishing Awards to follow Saturday's Dinner.
    • Check out 10 AM Sunday
    • You Can ONLY fish on the Minnesota Side of the Rainy River.
    • Please review proper handling of Sturgeon, so we have successful releases.
    • This is a Catch Photo and Release Tournament.
    • Photo will be submitted through this website once the tournament starts. (Photo rules will be posted below prior to the start of the tournament.)
    • $25 Entry Fee Per Person
    • If you are not bringing your boat, please help cover gas and bait costs to the boat captain you are fishing with.

Prizes - Based on 20 entries ( Biggest Sturgeon By Length).

We will have 3 cabins the sleep 6.  18 Twin Beds.  

Cabin and Boat Assignments will be done prior to the trip.

  • $115 - Lodging per person based on 18 guests for two nights. 

  • $25 - Entry Fee into the tournament. 

  • $50 - Towards meals and snacks.  2 dinners, sandwich stuff  and breakfast items included.

  • The rest goes towards taxes and credit card processing fees.

Other Information

  • You need a valid Fishing License- (Sturgeon Stamp Not Required Unless You Want To Keep One)
  • Dinner will be provided for you on Friday and Saturday Nights at 7:00pm
  • Donuts /Danishes Saturday & Sunday Morning. 
  • Sandwich stuff and chips are provided.
  • All other meals and snacks will be up to you.
  • Please bring whatever beverages you need. 
  • We need Boats and captains.  If you aren't bringing your boat please pitch in for Gas/ Bait etc.. 
  • Live Scope is allowed. 
  • Dress for the weather! 
  • Boats must have a tape measure, someone with a smart phone, and a net. 
  • Make sure you or your boat has adequate gear these fish can weigh in over 100lbs. 
  • If you wish to dock your boat overnight, please make arrangements with River's Bend lodge. 
  • If you want to Add Thursday night that will not be part of our group and you will need to make your own arrangements.
  • Minors can come and participate as long as they are supervised by an adult.
  • This is a Christian Event, Prayers, and a brief message will be shared. 

 
There is a strict limit to 20 anglers in this tournament. We will fill up first to pay/register gets priority, except if we are short boats. Ryan will have sole discretion on this. The prize money will be held in the Cast-A-Ways bank account until the day before the tournament. No refunds will be given. Ryan Churchill will have the final say on all decisions.

Photo Requirements

Measuring tape 
  • Use a commercial measuring tape
  • Bump the nose of the fish against a vertical surface
  • Measure the fish from nose to tail. 
Photos 
  • Take at least three photos to verify the total length
  • Take photos with a center reference point at the pelvic fins
  • Take 1 photo with the angler and the full fish in the shot
  • Take photos of high enough quality to zoom in and verify numbers on the tape measure
